Laguna Seca Atlantic Race

Congratulations to Forsythe/Pettit Mazda/Cosworth Atlantic driver James Hinchcliffe for capturing the victory at the May Mazda Speedway weekend. All weekend long he dominated the sessions when it mattered most. He qualified in the number one spot in both provisional and final qualifying and he led the race almost wire to wire. PCM driver Carl Skerlong came back from large shunt on his out lap during Friday provisional qualifying to match his career best second place finish from Houston in 2007. Team Condor driver Junior Strous battled his way onto the final spot on the podium surpassing his previous career best 5^th place finish. Paladin Motorsports were happy with their first time Atlantic driver Christopher Zoechling of Dubai who scored a bonus point for improving the most positions during the race. His efforts earned him a 7 position gain as he was able to drive his way up to 12^th place. James Hinchcliffe now leads the points battle, Long Beach Race winner Simona De Silvestro is tied for second in the points with her rookie American teammate Jonathon Summerton. Jonathon continues to lead the Rookie of the Year Points with a 4^th place finish at Long Beach and a 6^th place finish at MAZDA speedway
